The Green Gecko Project is based in Siem Reap. It is an umbrella organisation helping thousands in need across Cambodia. They provide long-term health, education and training to both children and adults. They have a women’s village, Tiger Club day centre, Green Gecko Humanitarian Youth Group, Young Adults’ program, and five social enterprises.

The programme helps children across Cambodia to get out of situations where they are alone or in harm. They ensure that these children are safe and educated, growing up out of harms way.

The children are provided with food, as well as a space to learn and grow. The education programme is aimed at children of all ages, teaching them to read and write, right up until they need to start looking for work. At this point, the children are taught more about working, with workshops on cv’s and work experience, as well as offering help when filling out university applications.

Olivia Monsey had the pleasure of visiting and volunteering with the Green Gecko Project a few years ago, where she helped teach the children and made memories for life. Olivia said: "It was the best experience of my life. I have never done something that felt so fulfilling. The program is amazing, they do so much for the children and make sure that they come out of any trouble they have faced in the past.”

The program is designed to help children to achieve their dreams. Whether they had been living on the streets, abandoned or have a tough at-home family life, there is a place for these kids at the Green Gecko program.

You can donate to the program, or even become a Gecko guardian or sponsor a gift as just a few ways to help.
