Berlin is a fantastic city to visit on your travels, and often only requires a few days to get around and visit the sights. Berlin is also very reasonable priced, with EasyJet and RyanAir offering flights form as cheap as £10 from London airports. As a European city, a lot of the local will speak English, making it easier to get around and avoid any language barriers. With travel and accommodation so cheap as well, there really is no excuse not to visit this fabulous city.
Getting around in Berlin is very easy. The underground train service is very similar to the tubes in London, and are also very reasonably priced. A return day ticket, which will allow you to travel anywhere in Berlin on the train, is €7. However, ensure that you have the correct change when travelling as there is often only ticket machines, rather than kiosks with staff working, and these machines only take the exact change.
Lots of accommodation in Berlin is very reasonably priced, however, accommodation is more expensive the closer you get to the centre of the city. If you can’t afford a hotel right in the centre, don't worry, try and book a hotel near to a train station. The travel links in Berlin are superb and not expensive at all so you will be able to get to and from your hotel very easily.
One of the best places to visit in Berlin is the Reichstag. The building which is home to German parliament is absolutely huge and simply stunning. A great thing about the Reichstag is that is free to visit inside. The complicated bit is that you will have to queue outside the very small tourist office outside the Reichstag in order to book a time slot to visit. This can take up to two hours on a busy day, and often you will have to book for another day during your stay, rather than going up the Reichstag the same day. While the idea of queueing might put you off, don't let it. The views across Germany, as well as the history of the building far outweigh the negatives this. Take our advice and queue early in the morning as soon as the tourist office opens to avoid waiting for hours. Don't be late for your time slot either as the security guards are very strict and wont let you in if you miss it.
Once through security, you will be assorted into the building and taken into a lift. This will take you to the roof of the Reichstag, where you can look out over Berlin and walk along a glass dome which sits on top of the building. As you walk into the dome and along the ramp to the top, you can read different about the history of the Berlin. At the peak of the dome there is a viewing area for you to sit down and relax and take in the information you have just read.

The Berlin Television tour is another popular excursion with tourists. Tickets cost €12 for an adult ticket, and you only have to wait about 30 minutes to go up to the top once you have purchased your ticket. The lift takes around 40 seconds to get to the top, which is extremely quick considering the tower stands at 368 meters tall. The view is simply amazing and offers views like no other. There is a bar as well as a restaurant situated at the top of the tower, however, be warned that the cost of one course is about €200, as well as the drinks being very expensive.

Mall of berlin is a huge shopping centre right in the centre of Berlin, just outside the train station of Postdamer Platz. One of the most unique things about this shopping centre is the food hall located at the top. Here you can sample a variety of different German foods including curry wurst, a renown local delicacy. As well as local German food, there are other cuisine options such as Thai food, Fish and Chips as well as Chinese. Since Germany is not famous for its food, if you fancy something different then this is the place to go. One thing not to miss out on trying in Germany is Schnitzel. Nearly all German restaurants will offer this on their menu and it pretty much is a huge piece of meat deep fried meat, often served with chips. Unfortunately, there are not many vegetarian options of schnitzel, so don't try this if you don't eat meat.
Don't miss out on exploring this remarkable city and book your flights today.
