For those of you with an eye for photography, Rhodes is for you.
Every inch of Greece can be photographed and look like a professional screen saver, Rhodes in particular. If you love photography or just appreciate spectacular views, this little island definitely will not disappoint.
Take a trip to the old town, enjoy a walk around the ruins and small lanes filled with vibrant market stalls and the hustle and bustle of bartering customers. Every part of this place is steeped in history as the name might suggest. There is a route you can take to walk around the ruins where you can soak in the atmosphere and take a break from the busy centre. The route will eventually take you back up to the town where the streets are lined with little shops, perfect for picking gifts for loved ones back home.
When you arrive at the centre of Rhodes you will find yourself in the main square, or, in this case circle. It is lined with small bars, lively restaurants and traditional grocery stores and possibly one of the best things about this centre is that once you step outside it you are right on the waterfront.
The water is lined with boats and even a ‘floating’ restaurant. Submarine tours are on offer where a trip across the sea is on offer, where you get to see deep underwater. Before you go downstairs to see this underwater show with the diver, you are able to get to enjoy the views that Rhodes has to offer. It was a chance to get a view of this busy, historical town from a distance.
If you find yourself staying a little outside the centre, public transport is a great, quick and affordable option to ensure you make the most out of your stay and visit everywhere on your to-do list. Aside from sometimes getting slightly busy on board, if crowding isn't an issue, definitely take this form of transport to get you from place to place for as little as €2.50 each for a return for the day. Perfect for those of you on a budget.
You definitely will not go hungry in Rhodes, everywhere you look there are restaurants, bars and cafes. Whether you are looking for a quaint and quiet traditional Greek restaurant or a lively bar, you won't run out of options.
