That time charlotte fell in cow poo…

You would have thought that after a few weeks in India, charlotte would have gotten used to the freely roaming cows on every corner, and of course roaming animals comes with animal faeces. Whilst in Varanasi we decided to do the sunset boat tour across the ganges, watching their religious ceremony that is put on every evening to celebrate the dead. On our way back, our tour guide led us through some very busy and very narrow streets, causing us to have to dodge the odd cow or two. Charlotte really shoud’ve been looking where she was going, because a few minutes in to our walk back to the hostel she went sliding in to a rather large pile of cow poo, falling on our bottom in front of a crowd of locals. Might not have been so funny for her, but it provided the rest of us and our tour guide with a lot of entertainment.

That time Megan fell off a camel…

All we really wanted was a sunset camel ride through the desert. Instead we got a thunder and rain storm and some camels that weren’t so happy to be giving us a lift. Mid-way through our rainy travels through the Pushkar desert, at an attempt to impress, the man in charge of leading Megan’s camel decided to try to make it gallop. Big mistake. The camel decided to start bucking causing Megan to be thrown about wildly whilst the rest of us stared in shock (trying to hold back our laughs). In the end Megan was thrown off her extremely tall camel head-first, somehow managing to not break any bones. To make matters worse, when she turned around, her whole bottom was on display as her trousers had ripped. This resulted in one of the men having to lend her a scarf to cover her modesty.

That time Emma shit the bed…

When you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go. Emma learnt this first hand. Whilst staying in a hostel Emma experienced a slight bought of a tummy bug meaning she needed to be pretty close to a bathroom at all times. One early morning it was particularly bad and as the rest of us were sleeping she didn’t quite get to the toilet in time. It’s safe to say we were awoken with quite a surprise when we woke up and had to make a swift exit from the hostel.

That time I accidentally flashed the locals…

It wasn’t often that we had the chance to sunbathe in India, not until Goa of course. In those bustling cities, its hardly appropriate to get your kit off and catch some rays. However, when we made it to Agra there was a lovely rooftop space at our hostel and with the sun beaming and no other plans for the day we decided to top up our tans. Of course being careful to avoid tan lines, I decided to take down the straps of my top. As I was enjoying this relaxing treat on an otherwise exhausting trip, some sort of flying bug decided to attack me, causing me to rapidly jump to my feet…completely forgetting the straps of my top weren’t up. Unfortunately it led to me accidentally flashing some locals that were stood below, that happened to be looking up at the precise time of one of the most embarrassing experiences of my life.
